How did you know it was time to do IVF?

I have been thinking about this alot lately. We have done several IUI's with no luck and I found out on Friday that my right tube is blocked. I just feel with DH's low count and motility and now my blocked right tube, that IUI just isn't going to work for us.

I am going to do some research on IVF (I bought a book about it the other day), can any of you suggest any websites, books, etc.

we did 5, maybe 6, without luck, decided to change drs and they discounted IVF immediately. We were also ready for IVF

What is your diagnosis? I only have one tube and DH has low morph

When I found out both of my tubes were blocked and I had to have them removed...actually I wasn't left with much of a choice

We decided to do IVF a few months after we found out DH's SA results. Since they were so low we didn't want to waste time on IUI's because the RE basically gave us less than a 5% chance. We just started our first IVF cycle and so far so good. I think you need to be OK with doing IVF before you take that step. Initially, I was dead set against IVF until I let it sink in that yes we were infertile and that our only chance of conceiving would probably be IVF. I decided that being a mom was the most important thing to me no matter how I got there. Good Luck!

we did several failed IUIs and normal sperm count was not getting any better.

Once I found out I had a blocked tube we went straight to IVF

My only diagnosis is that my right tube is blocked. And I am on Metformin for slightly high insulin levels. DH has low count and motility, morph is good.

I am ready for IVF emotionally, but financially we may have to wait a couple of months (insurance doesn't cover it). I just want to be a mom so badly. My doctor has mentioned IVF, but hasn't gone into full detail about it yet. I have to make a consultant appt with him. I think that is what he is going to suggest and finding out about my right tube.
