The pill
So, I went off the pill last month (no, I'm not pregnant, and probably won't be until my dad moves out of our house ) but, I've noticed some definite changes in myself - I lost about 5-8lbs in just one month, and I also feel more "stable" emotionally. I think when I'm on the pill I'm so much more emotionally charged, anxious and I think my temper flares quicker and more often. Is this one of the symptoms of being on the pill? Anyone else feel that way? What other kinds of BC are out there that don't have those kind of side effects?

Re: The pill
I felt that exact way while being on the pill.
I felt just off, walking around like there was a cloud over my head all the time. I was easily depressed and had a short fuse. Not to mention, I had zero sex drive on the pill. I vowed never to take that thing again! I was on low dose pills too and the tri estrogen pills like Ortho Tri Cyclin made it worse!
I am curious to see other options too. I am considering an IUD after I am done being pg.

Re: The pill
I also hated being on the pill even though I stayed on it for 10 years. I felt the same way. Since DS was born I haven't gone back on it and I don't plan to. I'm thinking of getting some kind of IUD after we have #2.

Re: The pill
Yes! When I was on the pill my moods were crazy.. I stopped taking it after just a couple months, I couldn't take the irritability or mood swings... neither could my DH

Re: The pill
I felt the exact same way on the pill. I hated it, but at the time, it was the only thing I trusted to use before we were ready to TTC. Onc eI had my first, we didn't use anything and I felt a world of difference. After my second, I went with an IUD and have no symptoms at all! I really love it.

Re: The pill
I tried so many different types of birth control pills..I felt so moody, anxious or depressed. I am now on Orthocylen and I feel so much better...its a steady hormone throughout the month...this has been the best one yet!
