40 pounds?
On average, when does a child reach 40 pounds?
Just trying to figure out which Britax car seat to register for. The Roundabout goes up to 65 pounds, but I've read several places that children who are under 65 pounds but school-age don't want to ride it in, as it looks like a baby seat, so people suggest the 40 pound one and then getting a booster seat.

Caiden has been at 40 lbs for over a year already and he turned 3 in January. But, he is tall for his age!

Re: 40 pounds?
I would think it depends on each individual child. DD is 2 and only weighs 20lbs
ETA: I know of babies that are 6-8 months old and weigh about 20lbs so it is hard to answer

Re: 40 pounds?
Hmmm...so which would you guys recommend? Registering for the one that goes up to 40 pounds, or the one that goes up to 65 pounds? Obviously the 65 pound one is more expensive, but if I can use it at least a year or so longer, I guess it's worth it?

the marathon goes to 65, the roundabout to 40. we got the roundabout because our car is small. i have also read that a lot of times the height limit is exceeded before the weight so the extra 25 pounds and $$ then becomes a "waste". it totally depends on the child though, it's so hard to tell how big they will be...
That makes sense. Too bad we can't predict these things
