Is anyone into this? I'm thinking about trying a class, was looking for any information or feedback.

Thanks!

Re: Bikram Yoga

Sorry, no, but there's a place in RVC where you can go for a few classes for $20, but then it gets $$$$$$$$

DH & I did it once. I was suprised at what a hard time he had with with the heat ... he had to step out a few times.

I get bad rosacea and hot flashes but got thru the class okay ...

We went to the Dix Hills location

And used this

Re: Bikram Yoga

Thanks for the info.

I am particularly concerned about the heat. While I could sit at the beach or by a pool when it's 95 out, I'm not sure how I would handle indoor heat....

I've gone a bunch of times. Its really good for you, you feel great afterwards. The instructors are really good about telling you that your goal for the 1st few classes is just to remain in the room for the whole 90 minutes, even if you have to take frequent breaks from the poses.

There were times I felt a little light headed, and I would just sit down until it passed. You will see many people do this. Its very non competitive, so just do as much as your body lets you.

Make sure you drink plenty of water before you go (even if you are not thirsty), bring a big bottle with you, and drink a lot afterwards. On days that I go to class, I easily drink 4 liters. I think pre-hydrating yourself prior to class is the most important factor to keep you from feeling dizzy in class.

Hope that helps!

Re: Bikram Yoga

I just went to my first class last week and I totally loved it! I was very intimidated by the heat, but it really was not that bad. I am so glad that I did it and can't wait to go back.

Re: Bikram Yoga

I used to go to the one in Dix Hills but my schedule got so hectic and i hated paying for yoga AND a gym membership.

i did love the yoga but i found im more of a gym person.
