Speaking of diamonds, I have yet to have my e-ring
appraised! I know...so bad. I have its diamond certification/papers of course, but want to add the ring to my insurance policy and have yet to do it. SO...I just made an appt. with the Jewelry Judge in Garden City. How was your appraisal experience???
I don't know what DH paid; only that I am happy with its specs and it's a very nice solitaire. However, the jeweler who made it also made my band (1/2 eternity) and he told us the stones were the same quality as the e-ring. BUT, the band looks more sparkly to me, perhaps because they are tinier? (1.4 weight around on my band)....well, I guess an appraisal will tell all.I don't plan to have the band appraised, but it should be clear to the gemologist's eye.

I also know Gennaro's in Bellmore is a well reputable place that does the appraisal in front of you..while you watch. Never out of sight.
We recommend them to places and so far everyone is happy with them.
Esp with a diamond, nobody wants to leave that with someone.
I can help u insure it too

I had my e-ring appraised at Kay Cameron in Sayville. it appraised very well. I was pretty impressed b/c I got a dossier with all the information on the appraisal, photos and the appraisers credentials.
my w-ring was appraised at EAB Plaza - GEM Labs or something like that. it appraised really well, but she gave me the papers right there on the spot. not nearly the presentation I got with my e-ring, for around the same price.
all in all, I was very pleased with how much they both appraised for!
and btw, they may or may not agree to give you an evaluation of your w-ring unless you pay for it.

I went to the Jewlery Judge for my appraisal. He did a few items at the time and I think it cost me $200. He did a great job and also gave a dossier on all the pieces I brought. He was a very nice guy too!
