Hiking Shoes / Boots - What brand(s) do you recommend?
I need to get a pair of hiking shoes for my Hawaii  trip next month. I know Merrell is really comfortable but their hiking shoes on sierratradingpost are all sooooooo ugly  Anyone have any other brand they'd recommend?

My bff got some North Face ones to go backpacking in Europe. She said they were great.

Thank you all for your suggestions. Took me a few minutes to find this thread - never entered my mind that ugly hiking shoes were 'fashion'

I bought a pair of North Face hiking shoes at ****'s Sporting Goods. Love them.
It's good that you're getting them, you will need them in Hawaii! Have fun!

I have the first generation of this one in grey & purple. They're waterproof too - so perfect for today.
DH & I both got a pair for Montreal and lovelovelove them.

i bought a pair of north face for hawaii and they were perfect, i then wore them in the snow recently and actually got a compliment on them, i love them they are hiking sneakers
