Greek Islands or other suggestions?

My parents just suggested taking us all on a trip when I am healed. One place we thought of was the Greek Islands.
Does anyone have any input on whether it would be better to do a cruise around the islands? Or just pick a few that we want to see and stay there? If we do the latter, is it easy to catch boats from island to island?

Last but not least, any input...tips....tricks or really just any insight would be appreciated. We are in the VERY begining of looking into this and aren't even SOLD on this...still thinking other places (spain? australia? or any other place that is suggested)

the ONLY thing that immediately came to mind, was Santorini! I've seen pics a few members have posted on here, and they've all been AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

Deb, I'm sorry I don't know anything about the greek isles, but I know people who have gone had a great time.

We did a Royal Caribbean cruise through the Greek Isles for our honeymoon and it was beautiful! We left out of Venice, Italy and went to Athens, Mykonos, and Rhodes, Greece and finished up in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Having previously backpacked though Europe, I thought a cruise was a luxurious way of seeing many places but still having the "American" comforts of home at our fingertips.

I did a cruise to the Greek Islands for my honeymoon...ask any questions: ) I can email you pic too!We had the best time!

We HM'd in Greece - specifically Athens and Santorini - so I can only comment on that.

Santorini was a magical place - it was awe-inspiring and breathtaking and romantic and so full of life. The food was some of the best I have ever had...the people were so warm and welcoming.

I absolutely loved the time we spent in Santorini and cannot wait to go back and visit.

There are so many Greek islands I want to see - we plan on going back in about 7 years to visit the Ionian islands (from everything I've seen, they're gorgeous).
