the Delamar hotel in Greenwich

great hotel, excellent restaurant and local shopping on greenwich ave

my company owns part of this hotel and we get corporate rates- nothing cheap but we can get rooms for about $195 a night (instead of $250 +)

I stayed at The Saybrook Inn , in well Saybrook, CT

http://www.saybrook.com/

nice town, near everything

I went in the summer

It is bigger than a B&B or "cozy" hotel but still very nice, they have suites avail too and nice spa

I don't know if you are looking for something a bit quainter - but you can give it a shot!

Copper Beech Inn in Ivoryton. It supposed to be really nice, and the restaurant at the Inn has been voted best restaurant, best romantic dinner, etc by Connecticut Magazine. I haven't been there, but it looks very nice and romantic.

Copper Beech Inn

Bee and Thistle Inn in Old Saybrook received similar awards in CT Magazine.

Bee & Thistle Inn

ETA: I forgot about the Mayflower Inn & Spa in Washington.

yes! its not AMAZING but its certaily fun for a few hours. the shopping on greenwich ave is great - not sure if you are going during the summer but the hotel provides a little boat ride to the greenwich private island where you can go to a private beach

however it may be too "close" of a palce- greeneich is only a 35 minute train ride to nyc so you may want to go farther north

there is also an amazing place called the mayflower- they have a spa packages
and its much farther north

Re: I need Some Info About Connecticut

Steamboat inn in Mystic on the water. Very Romantic and in the heart of Mystic. Look on their website -
steam boat inn

Click Special Packages
Click on the Mystic Experience.

Danielle and I and our friends have gone to this inn twice in 2 years and we love it there.

They give you complimentary breakfast, and with this speacial package you get a free bottle of wine, tickets for two to either the seaport or the aquariam, and dinner for two at a choice of 3 restaurants. Daniel Packer inn is where we usually eat - its amazing.

look on trip advisor and read the reviews - they are all excellent
