Sweet 16 location ideas
I am looking for ideas on where to have a Sweet 16 party for my daughter. Nothing on the scale of what you see on MTV.
She wants a pajama party...ALL the guests, including adults, have to wear pajamas. She wants buffet or stations, no sit down dinner. We are going to have a DJ. And we will be inviting 75 people.
I checked the Marriott and they are very expensive. I was thinking like a lodge or something. I also spoke with one DJ who wants $1k ...way too much money.
Does anyone have any suggestions on a hall or DJ?
Thanks!!

Where are you located...
I *THINK* LI Manor (Bethpage) has packages that INCLUDE a DJ. My friend threw her hubby his 30th birthday party there (I missed it so I can't give you my thoughts on it) and she didn't have any complaints.

I was going to ask where you are located too.
I would suggest a Knights of Columbus or VFW. Those are the best kinds of parties.

There's the Omni Diner in uniondale. It's not really a diner, but a catering hall. Has diner-style to it though.

My cousin is having hers at the Sterling in Bethpage, I'm not sure the pricing but, the DJ is included in the package and it's a buffet dinner.

Re: Sweet 16 location ideas
there is a Polish Hall in Port Jeff Station right near the firehouse. My friend has had sweet sixteens for two of her kids there, affordable & really nice people run it. You bring in your own food.
ETA-your Fire Dept might have a nice room you can rent. And Family Deli in Bohemia has two little catering places, I can't think of the names right now but I've been to both & they are cute.

Re: Sweet 16 location ideas
I would also suggest the Polish American Independent Hall - I have alot of customers who have had sweet 16 parties there (I have an invitation store right around the corner). Or, try the Holiday Inn Express on Route 347 in Setauket - they have party rooms and are not expensive.
In my experience $600 - $1000 for DJ is around the norm (depends on the package and what you want as far as entertainment).
Good luck!

Re: Sweet 16 location ideas
I Dont know what condition the place is in now, but I hadmy sweet 16 at the Flaming Hearth in Farmingville. Its on Portion Road and they included invitation and decorations with the price per person. The food was good and it was a perfect size for my guests. Plus, the price was right. Now, of course, this is alomst 11 years ago, but I know that they usually post pretty cheap prices on the sign outside the place. It might be worth checking out.

I was just going to suggest this place as well. While I haven't been there, I did see an advertisement for sweet sixteen parties in a local parenting magazine. I have a friend that attended another event there and said it was nice.
