North carolina- Outer banks
Has anyone vacationed there? What is there to do?
We can get a really nice rental house, but it doesnt look like there is much to do there?

I rented a beach house with a bunch of friends in Topsail Beach (Surf City) a couple of years ago. It's a little bit more south than the Outer Banks. We had a blast - spend the days at the beach, golfed, surfed!

come to the panhandle instead! The Gulf kicks NC butt!
My brother works on the Outer Banks in Avon he runs a bar resturant he just moved back down there this weekend.

I rented a house there last summer with 4 other couples and our kids (10 adults and 8 kids). We had a really nice time. Depending on which town you go to there is more or less to do without a lot of driving. We had a pool and the beach was across the street so we did lots of that. Went out to lunch and dinner and for ice cream. Totally relaxing and I would do it again.
I know some towns have more to do - typical beach town type stuff. The town we had was very very low key. The house we rented was gorgeous!
