mama needs a new bag!
ok seriously though...
i am thinking of buying a new bag. i have a beautiful leather bag, and it is getting better with age, but i dont think it is a classic, and probably wont last forever.
im thinking of buying an LV, but i dont think i want to pay retail. so i have some questions.
are the bags really worth the money? i know they are timeless and they are guaranteed, right? if anything rips, etc, i can have it repaired by LV? if that's what i need, should i then buy it from and LV location?
opinions please. TIA

LV bags are timeless IMO
but you are going to pay retail- the timeless ones will never go on sale
they have a life time warrenty- if you don't like how the strap discolors- they will replace it, they will repair rips etc (so will Gucci and most other designer bags)
you will find the best selection at the LV store vs macy's or bloomies in the city
if you know anyone who works for these stores- they get 20% ( and I quit b/c- oh right I was getting yelled at every day  )

see, that makes me want one. i just want a bag that i can have forever.
i may check out the store in macys in RF. i want a large one tho, something i can use for work, so i know i have to drop some bucks, but if its a lifetime thing, then its worth it!

go to store in mahanesst- they have a better selection
you will have it for years!

No...canvas does mean leather. The canvas refers to the classic brown and tan logo pattern. They do have real canvas bags, as in fabric, as well...but I believe they call that by a different name.

Canvas = treated/coated canvas.
The Mono Canvas, Mono MultiColor, Mono Perfo and Damier collection are all treated canvas.
Mono Denim, Mono Mini and Mono Satin are fabric.
Antigua is regular canvas the way we think of it...untreated/uncoated.
Epi, Suhali, Nomade are leather.
Vernis is Patent Leather.

You can also go to LV website & sign up for private offers, but they are usually on the more "trendy" bags. Top Button.com also offers some deals (sample sales & the like) and eluxury.com sometimes has offers. Most times it is for shipping though.
I think it is worth it for a timeless LV bag. My co-worker has her Speedy for many many years.

YUP!
and still LOTS of money but I agree...its a great bag, that will last forever and be in style forever...You cant go wrong with an LV. Its worth the money spent.

i think the fact that they will repair is justification for the $.
i have gone through so many bags that i probably have spent well over $1000! so i do agree, a timeless bag that will last is worth it.
ill let you know what i end up with!
now, suggestions...do i go for something big enough for everyday (work - im a teacher) or just get a nice "pocketbook" bag? hmm...the decisions...

I agree - I think it is a lot of money but you will have the bag for many years and I think it is money well spent. Everyone should have 1 or 2 really nice bags.
