Double Stroller for non-twins
Hi all!
I am starting to research strollers and have a question for moms with two children that were born at different times.
Can you get a side by side stroller that allows the car seat bucket to snap on?
I have a 21 month old and am due in July. I would love to get a side by side stroller but don't know if i can.
I had the phil and ted e3 and returned it. I really want both kids to be able to see out. But if i can't do it - then I will get the front to back one.
Thanks so much Vera

Re: Double Stroller for non-twins
Mine are 16 months apart. Started out with a Graco Duoglider that I HATE. So heavy. But can fit a Graco infant seat.
Then I got a Baby Trend Sit N Stand from One Step Ahead catalog. I've also seen them at Target. Love it. It comes with an attachment to be used with an infant car seat if you need.

Re: Double Stroller for non-twins
we are looking into the Combi side by side stroller. It's suitable from birth and can take a Combi infant seat

Mine are exactly 2 years apart and I have what Cathy has - the Sit and Stand. I really like it. Much lighter (and cheaper ) than a real double stroller.

There's a seat belt if they are sitting on the jumpseat, or a strap around their chest if they are standing.

Re: Double Stroller for non-twins
I was looking for a "perfect" double for my kids-they are 11 months apart...
I couldnt find a side by side that could hold an infant carrier, so I broke down and got the duoglide, it was sooo heavy&bulky...i hated it,but used it till my little one was about 5 months old.
Then I got the jeep double umbrella- it was ok, much lighter, but I found the side by side to be so akward to push, I was always getting stuck in doorways and it is a PIA to go shopping with bc its so wide.
Then I got the combi front to back-altho it was much lighter than the duoglide, i hated it too, it was just such an annoying stroller,
so I finally went & got the Joovy sit n stand. I LOVE IT!!! Its so lightweight, and my 2 year old was ready to use it-he would always get out of the double & want to walk so this was the perfect solution! Hope my experience can help you- maybe you can save you some $$$ and time and jsut get the sit n stand!

Re: Double Stroller for non-twins
Mine will be 14.5 months apart when baby #2 comes and I currently have a peg perego car seat. The Graco DuoGlider seems kinda long and I think it is giong to get heavy for me fast since DS is already about 25lbs. Plus I would need to get another infant carrier. I looked at the Combi and it felt very flimsy to me and I wasn't impressed with the Maclaren either (both side by side). I think I am going to get the tandum sit-n-stand from onestepahead.com. It looks likes it fits our situation perfectly except I do not like the fact that I can not test drive it first. If I was in your shoes I would definity consider a sit-n-stand type of stroller. Unless your older one still takes naps in it then I might consider a double but otherwise save your money.

Re: Double Stroller for non-twins
What about the Phil and Teds? Its supposed to be fantastic! Its the same size as a regular stroller and the infant can hang from a hammock on the bottom... I think they are fabby!
