I ate crackers here and there all day long, drank ginger ale and thought to myself that it is normal and based on PG hormones.

I just try to eat before I get hungry again, like every 2 hrs have a little something. That seems to help me a little.

Re: How did/do you deal with morning sickness???
wearing sea bands (not convinced they work but still wear them) and eating preggie pop drops, which do work temporarily but I then too many of them makes it worse.

Re: How did/do you deal with morning sickness???
i am sick 24/7. i am basically dysfunctional
there is no one thing that helps me. what stays down is whatever i'm craving in that moment. drinking is especially difficult. lately i've been doing well with apple cider.
i am waiting on the first trimester to be OVER, hoping for some relief. if i don't get it, then i am going to consider meds.

Re: How did/do you deal with morning sickness???
I have a trillion tricks since I have had it for 25 weeks straight now..
LEMONS work. I carry lemons around sometime and just the smell helps. Many people do this. Add lemon to your water.
DONT eat 3 meals a day, eat every two hours, small amounts...a few crackers, a rice cake, some fruit, whatever appeals to you but small amounts all day.
If you let your stomach get empty it will be much worse.
Same with fluids, if you get dehydrated the m/s will be so much worse ...
Try anything you crave, and stay away from smells or foods you dont find 100% appealing.
Hang in there.
Functioning is not easy, but hopefully it will pass soon!

I can always hold down water, so far, and a lot of it. Other drinks are iffy.

Re: How did/do you deal with morning sickness???
I basically live on Gatorade and sometimes I crave ice water so when I do, I drink lots of it. I snack on dry pretzels at night cause I feel worse at night. I take a Pepcid a day to help with the heartburn. I always have to lay down when I get home from work because I'm exhausted. I try to snack a few times a day but I sometimes have trouble with that too. I just fly by the seat of my pants really....and sob alot to DH...

Ditto everything Donna just said. And I take Zofran too.
Just find what works for you, a lot won't, so don't really worry about following any type of diet (pregnancy diet I mean) right now. If you can eat just ice cream or milkshakes, do that.
Hopefully it will pass soon

Ditto on the sobbing to DH. Is Pepcid definitely safe for PG? I read that it is a category B drug, which is like Tylenol. I have taken them but so sparingly, like maybe 3-4 pills total in all these weeks. I would love to take 1 a day.

Re: How did/do you deal with morning sickness???
In my first trimester, I just found a way to deal with it because nothing I did made it go away. I relied on ginger ale and bread to calm my stomach and it helped sometimes.
Now that I'm in my 3rd trimester, the m/s is back and actually worse than it was in my 1st. Ginger ale and bread aren't working this time around but unfortunately my doctor says it is normal for some to feel this way.
Basically, I wish I had some helpful advice for you but I just try to talk myself through it when it happens. I repeat over and over that it won't last forever and the end result is very much worth it. I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks ladies.

Re: How did/do you deal with morning sickness???
I was nauseated all day from about 4 1/2 weeks until 9-10 weeks and then it completely went away around 12-13 weeks. I really wasn't throwing up - only a few times from smells. I found wearing those sea bands, combined with snacking on saltines (which I hate btw) and sipping on water with lemon, and ginger ale, all worked for me. I really couldn't eat much of anything - meat was completely out of the question. I ate what I could when I could.
Oh I also found that ginger altoids helped when I was commuting and on the LIRR.

Re: How did/do you deal with morning sickness???
I just got used to it, came up with a routine to help me deal with it... I would get up, drink something, throw up and wait... then eat a little bit and usually I was fine for the rest of the day... as Donna said, lemons did help me with nausea, chewing gum helped a little... oh and I carried a plastic bag with me everywhere just in case...
