What are some must-sees?

Did you have a hard time getting around?

How did you get from the airport to your hotel?

How long were you there? Was it too long/too short?

Any other info you have would be greatly appreciated!!!

I haven't spent lots of time in Ireland, but I have been once for a long weekend...so I will try to help you.

Some must sees...can't help you with this one, went to Dublin for about 36 hours...went on the open top bus tour, the mideval Dublin exhibition, the Guinness Tour (a must for me really...the building is fantastic) and then out to dinner and pub crawl around the Temple bar.

We got from the airport to the centre of Dublin on a bus. It was easy.

If you want to see the countryside, you probably need to rent a car. However, IMO driving on the right hand side can be tricky, but you get used to it. the hardest part is getting used to looking to the right first, then the left. I am still getting used to it, and I drove over 100 miles today!!!

If you are just going to Dublin you can get a cab to your hotel. I really liked the Dingle peninsula but you would have to drive there. I know a lot of people seem to fly into dublin and then drive around and fly out of shannon or vice versa. Driving on the other side is not hard at all. I really liked the Waterford factory and if you go near shannon there is bunratty castle- kind of like medieval times in a real castle.

IMO a couple of days in dublin is more than enough.

I prefer the western coast of Ireland....Cliffs of Moher in Clare
Ring of Kerry
Cork, Galway, Mayo all beautiful

Not hard getting around...everything is opposite of here. There roads outside the cities can be small and windy, poor lighting at night

Always fly into Shannon and rent a car there. Ennis is a beautiful city in Clare not far from the airport

Beautiful country, the people are so warm and inviting..

What time of year would you go?

Definitly do the Bunratty feast. It was so much fun. Giants Causeway is another great site to visit also. We rented a car from the airport and traveled pretty much from north to south and around again throughout the country. We got lost a number of times. We were there a little over a week and it was an exhausting trip (we started in England for 4 days), but there is still a lot of Ireland I feel I missed.

Loved Ireland! We took a cab ride from the airport to Dublin. It wasn't that long and it was great talking to the cab driver.

Dublin was fun, but I wouldn't focus my entire stay there. The pubs are great - but you can do that in any Town.

North is great - loved the Giant's Causeway and just driving around the coast is amazing there.

Great sites - Cliffs of Moher, Ring of Kerry - only works on a good day, Blarney Castle is fun, just for the thrill of walking up the steep freakin staircase and the Blarney Stone. Kinsale was my favorite town. They have there own brewing company there and it was well worth the stop.

I have to agree with above.

Also, Temple Bar in Dublin is great.

We went in April / May timeframe....weather was a little chilly but we had a great time. We actually stayed w/DH's family and it was really a great way to see Ireland.
