Jets to visit Cowboys on Turkey Day

Plan a turkey or a late dinner if you want to see the Jets on Thanksgiving.
Gang Green will visit Dallas in the second of the three games on Turkey Day this year, following the Giants' visit to Texas Stadium for a prime time game on the first Sunday of the season. It's the first time the Giants have opened in Dallas since 1986, their first Super Bowl season.
The Giants-Cowboys game will be televised by NBC at 8:15 p.m. - right after ex-Giant Tiki Barber makes his regular-season debut as an analyst on the network's pregame show.
If the potential for pregame fireworks with Barber, who ripped Tom Coughlin in his introductory press conference, isn't enticing enough, the game should provide plenty of intrigue. It will be the first game for the Cowboys in the post-Bill Parcells era.
The Jets, coming off a 10-6 season, will play the middle game on Thanksgiving Day. They'll kick off at Texas Stadium at 4:15 p.m., after Green Bay plays at Detroit (12:30 p.m.) and before Indianapolis plays at Atlanta (8:15 p.m.).
The NFL also announced that the season will open on Thursday night, Sept.6, with the Saints playing the Super Bowl champion Colts in Indianapolis. And on Sept.10, there will be a Monday night doubleheader, with Baltimore at Cincinnati (7 p.m.) and Arizona at San Francisco (10:15 p.m.).
The full schedule will be released on April 5.
