help she wont stop barking!!

my whole family hates my dog because she barks all night long I dont know why or how to get her to stop. she keeps everyone up all night and the family is not to happy any suggestions on what I can do to stop the barking. they want me to muzzle her and i just cant do it.

something is obviously bothering her. Is this behavior new? Is she a puppy? She may have separation anxiety.

Would it help to let her sleep on her bed in your room? I had a puppy once that would not stop barking for hours on end. She would get hoarse from barking so much. She just wanted to be with me so I let her sleep on the floor in my room.
Not what I really wanted, but she shut up!!!!

Oh, and a muzzle will just terrify her even more. You have to get to the root of the problem and fix it....

When my dog was a puppy I tried to keep her in her crate when I wasn't home and she would howl relentlessly until she was let out. At the time I lived with my parents and bartended so I was out late like 3-4 nights a week. My parents wanted me to get rid of the dog. I wound up having to leave her loose in my bedroom because it was the only way she would stay quiet.
