no AF 6mths off BCP

So, I'm off to see the RE pretty soon ... haven't had AF since I stopped BCP in November! Next month will be 6mths without - and there is NO signs that it's coming.

Believe it or not, I may be the only one on this site who actually WANTS AF!!

Has anyone been through this?
Has anyone seen an RE because of this?
Any advice?

I've been off BC since Janurary. I got one . in feb and haven't gotten one since. I totally understand I want my . to come for a visit soo bad. I want it to come so that I can begin charting properly.
I haven't thought about seeing a RE just going to talk to my gyno friday and see what her reccomendation is.

This happened to a friend of mine recently. She went off the pill in July. She finally just got her first period about two weeks ago. She went to the GYN and they gave her some type of medication to bring it on. Is your doctor aware of the situation? You should definitely go back and see if they can put you on something to bring on AF. then, hopefully your body will regulate itself. Good luck!

I'm 8 months off the pill and have only had 4 AFs. My OB told me it can take up to a year for some women's bodies to adjust to being off the pill. I've been VERY irregular since coming off the pill in August. This is what my cycles have looked like:

First natural AF off the pill: 35 days

second cycle 88 days! (and I only got AF because my OB gave me Provera to start it)

third cycle 46 days

4th cycle 46 days

I'm very happy that the last two cycles have been consistent.

We have not seen a RE yet. But the practice I belong to specializes in IF as well. My OB told me to try naturally for 3 more months then we will move to IUI So If I don't get pregnant this cycle or next cycle, I will do IUI in June.

I went off the pill in august and havent gotten a period since (except for meds my gyn gave me to get it)

I was diagnosed with PCOS after a bunch of tests.

I've been through it, although I didn't wait 6 months. I spoke to my OB/GYN after 3 and got some pills that brought on my period. I got pregnant with my DD (now two years old) in the very next cycle which was super long too -- I ovulated in like the 9th week post period. So, my advice is see your doctor and don't worry yet -- there may be a simple fix!

Happened to me. Went off the pill in September 2002. Didn't get an AF, so called my OB/GYN. He did some blood work and all came back normal. So he gave me Provera to take to induce period and told me to call him back if I didn't get a cycle on my own within 6 weeks after the induced one. I didn't. Went back, got Provera again. Got AF with that, then nothing again. This was now into June and July of 2003 and I ws getting frustrated because we were TTC. I went back to doctor again and found out I was PG at the time!! That second round of Provera must have gotten my system jump started
and I was just having super long cycles.

And after I had my first, my cycles returned to normal - like clockwork!

I also had this problem after the pill. My doctor gave me provera and af came regular after that. Now I am pregnant!

I came off BC in September, and had regular cycles of about 30 days in Oct, Nov, Dec, and Jan. In Feb itwent to 35 days and I have not had a period since Feb. 25th - I took to PG tests, both negative, so I am going to the Dr. tomorrow to try and see what is going on.
