Fire
OMG the two houses behind mine are just gone. The fire destroyed everything and there are only shells of two houses left. The houses next to them will prob have to come down for structural problems. The fire department is still here with boom weater canons over my house. The siding on the back of my house buckled. Thanfully no one got hurt and everything can be replaced.
Wow, just wow.
I have no words.

Here is a picture of the new "view" from the back of my house.
Even sadder still the owners purchased the house two weeks ago and are supposed to get married next month.
Ugh cannot attach it.

Oh my god I'm SOOO sorry to hear that! If any of the people are in need of clothes, please let me know and I will scower the Island to try to get some for them, especially the kids (if any).

Thanks, I asked them this morning and they said no. It is a young looking couple - late 20s without children. The woman said they were able to go to her sister's house and that she had clothing. I have no idea about the other neighbor. Thanks for the offer, if I hear anything else I will post.
This morning I woke up with burns on my face b/c the fire was so hot. They sting, but are not bad. I feel lucky that we were ok and our home was ok.

I know firsthand how awful it is to have your house burn down.
Thank god everyone is safe and like you said - "things" are replaceable - life is not.

I have no idea how it started. I saw the fire when only one floor was on fire. I called the fire department watching it from my back sliding glass door and by the time I was off the phone the second story was on fire and so was the house next door. We live in Bedminster, NJ.
I don't think it was a brush fire b/c there really is none here. A lot of the damage occured after the main fire b/c a propane tank from the outdoor grill exploded. That is how I got my "suntan."
