Nutro Treats/Biscuits- their response

I emailed them about the contradicting info and this is the response I received

Thank You for Taking the Time To Contact Nutro Products Via Email With
Your Question. Let Me Start by Assuring You That: Nutro Pet Foods
Currently On Store Shelves Are Safe To Feed Your Pets.

NO Nutro Dry Kibble Products Have Been Affected Or Are Part of the Menu
Recall.

While Some of Nutro’s “soft Treats” Contain Wheat Gluten, We Can
Assure You That None of the Wheat Gluten Used in These Products Was Or
Is Imported and More Specifically, None Was Sourced From China Or the
Chinese Manufacturer Suspected by the Fda of Distributing the
Compromised Wheat Gluten. Nutro’s “treats” and “biscuits” Products Are
Not Manufactured by Menu Foods and Are Not Included in the Menu Foods
Recall. Boxes of Nutro Biscuits Are Safe. Puppy Drumsticks Contain Wheat
Gluten, But Again the Gluten Was Not Sourced From China and They Are
Not Affected by Any Recall Action.

All of Nutro’s Canned Products On the Shelf Are Safe To Feed Your
Pets. They DO Not Contain Any Wheat Gluten Sourced From China Or the
Chinese Manufacturer Suspected by the Fda of Distributing the Compromised
Wheat Gluten.

Sincerely,

Nutro Products, Inc. Services

Then why didn't they jsut say that in the first place. I hate when it looks like they are backpedaling...

Re: Nutro Treats/Biscuits- their response

I believe a lot of companies recalled stuff that was not "contaminated" just to be on the safe side. I had read that the only biscuits included in the recall were Old Roy, Sunshine and Pet's Pride.

I am glad they replied to you, I am still waiting. I am still nervous to give her the treats though.....

Oh I believe that their products are OK, but the original complaint was that they claimed not to use Wheat Gluten at all, when they clearly do. They should have just said that their Wheat Gluten is not from China & is of a different grade.....
