Cat was Shaved - Now hair Won't Grow back...

In August of 2003, Lucy's abdomen was shaved for a procedure. Her hair never grew back. I questioned her vet about it (not the same vet that shaved her) and he said she probably wasn't shaved but that she licked it off. I insisted she was shaved - he didn't have record of it b/c as I said, it was a different vet/office. He didn't have much of an answer.

About 2 months ago, Lucy was brought in for another procedure and a patch on her "forearm" was shaved. That hair hasn't grown back.

I tried googleing to no avail...everything seems to be skin conditions or issues to fleas or behavioral problems - none of which I believe she has. Her coat is very thick and shiny, she is very affectionate...and while she can be a scaredy cat, she is not neurotic.

She turned 10 this past June...I was thinking that maybe it was an age thing?

Has anyone heard of this happening or have seen it??

Colleen, that is really odd! Maybe try another vet?

I'm thinking she's having some tyroid issues...I would have that checked out.

She had a full battery of tests at her last visit - she is 100% healthy. I just find it odd that her hair won't grow back in those 2 spots. Weird.
