Scary Day yesterday......very long sorry
So yesterday morning I woke up at 5am in the worst back and side pain but I figured it would go away (mind you I am 6 months). Then my DH left for work at 5:30am and I didn't want to say anything because he gets very nervous because we are having an IVF baby. So I tried to get out of bed when he left and drink water thinking maybe I was dehydrated. I walked around and the pain wouldn't subside so I decided to lay back down. The only problem is I couldn't even lift my leg to lay down that is how bad my side and lower abdomen hurt. So at this point I called my DH and told him to come back home that something just didn't feel right. I called the dr. emergency number and the dr. on call called me right back and told me to come into the office. I didn't get an appt. until 11! I wasn't happy with that but the woman at the front desk said it was the only time she had open. So it was a long couple of hrs until we left to the Dr. Once we got there the nurse came in first and said that it sounded like ligament pain because of pressure from a growing uterus but the Dr. was going to ensure that is what it was. So he came in checked my cervix and ensured it was closed and that I wasn't dilating. He then hooked me up to a monitor to ensure I wasn't having contractions. After a couple of minutes the nurse comes in and looks at my dumbfounded. I was indeed contracting every 4 minutes. So they then gave me water to see if it was just dehydration. After 20 min of the contractions being regular and not stopping I was told I was going to be admitted into the hospital for pre-term labor. So at this point my husband looks like a deer in headlights and I was on the verge of balling. I tried to remain calm but it was very hard. Once we got to the hospital the nurses there were very nice and told me that it was a great thing that my cervix wasn't open. They then put me and the baby on monitors. They made me drink cups and cups of water. After like 15 min they determined they were going to give me a shot of something that starts with a T. I won't even try to spell. It was suppose to stop the contractions from coming. Thank God the medication worked because the next thing was magnisum sulfate and I would have to stay overnight. After a couple of hrs. of them monitoring me and ensuring that the medication worked I was discharged and told to stay off my feet until I see the Dr. So now I am at home in bed rest until I speak to the Dr. on Monday. I am already getting bored.
Did anyone ever experience this and if so did it come back?

Re: Scary Day yesterday......very long sorry
That is scary! Thank goodness you didnt have to go for the Magnesium!
Yes, I will be honest, once it starts its pretty much a battle, and it wont just "Stop"....You will probably be on mostly bed rest.
Im opn Progesterone shots which stop you from contracting ( similair to the IVF PIO shots) but these are Very strong and only once a week. Maybe they will do that.
Hang in there! And Try not to wrry, if your cervix is nice and tight that means those contractions did NOTHING and its a GREAT sign!
How many weeks are you?
