WW...how does it work?
Can you explain the points?
Does WW determine what is a goal weight for you, or do you? Does it take into account muscle mas% of body fat?
How many calories do you eat a day? What does points = in calories/fat?
Thanks for explaining, a co-worker is on it and I want to better understand

Each food is given a points value per serving based on calories, fat and dietary fiber.
Based on your weight, activity level, age and height, you are given a total number of points that must be eaten per day. In addition to these daily points you get 35 extra points to use whenever you want each week.
You do not count calories, just points, but I do know that one point is about 50 calories, but calories is never a term used while on program- it's all in terms of points.

Re: WW...how does it work?
The following are the questions that you use/answer to determine your daily point allowance:
1. Are you: Female = 2 pts Male = 8 pts A Nursing Mom = 12 pts
2. How old are you: 17-26 = 4 pts 27-37 = 3 pts 38-47 = 2 pts 48-58 = 1 pt Over 58 = 0 pts
3. What do you weigh? Enter the first 2 digits of your weight in pounds
4. How tall are you? Under 5'1" = 0 pts 5'1" - 5'10" = 1 pt Over 5'10" = 2 pts
5. Do you spend most of you day: (a) Sitting down = 0 pts (b) Occasionally sitting, but mostly standing (teacher, sales person) = 2 pt (c) Walking most of the time (waiter, mailman) = 4 pts (d) Doing physically hard work most of the time (construction, nurse, gardener) = 6 pts
Add up your score and that is the number of points you get for the day. As you lose weight, your number will decrease because of question # 3. The minimum number of points you are allowed to have is 18 and the max is 44. So if you add your score and it is 17, make it now 18.

Never knew that. I always have gone by 23 points a day. That is what I used to do when I seriously did WW.
