SMART Board users
For those who have access to SMART Boards, how did you use them in your lessons? Did you use them for all, some, few of your lessons? I am getting ours for the month of June and I am trying to prepare for how I might use it.

Re: SMART Board users
when i taught in florida last year I had one in my room and had to use it everyday from day 1.
I am a math teacher and had my lessons done in Powerpoint and had them projected to the board. I loved being able to write on top of my notes and use the board for the shapes, and grids.

Re: SMART Board users
I am in a small school and we had one SMART Board for 17 classes to share for a month at a time. We just got a second one. I have sat through many a tutorial. I figure if this is going to be in my room for a month, I better use it.
I teach special ed in a day treatment center. My students are from 11-13 years old and they function anywhere from 1st to 4th grade in any given topic. I guess I am like an 80 year old with a VCR. That new technology scares me!

Re: SMART Board users
I have one and I use it constantly. I teach ESL. I have the kids match pictures to words, write on it, do games in English and math, show movies from united streaming, have the kids correct papers, do cloze activities, and the list goes on. It is really motivating and fun for the teacher and the students.

Re: SMART Board users
I think if I had it in my room all year to play with, I wouldnt be so scared to use it. One month increments are surely not enough and we dont have the funding so that all classrooms have one. I would like to develop some proficiency before it is in my room so I d/ld the software and I am going to attempt to create my own lessons.
