spring planting
I'm planning a Plants Unit and I want to plants seeds with my class for our science fair project. What seeds grow pretty quickly and pretty easily? I am not a green thumb.

Re: spring planting
sunflower seeds I always use them and have no problems. ETA: If you place a ziploc bag over the plant it speeds up the germination time....loosely place it over the pot and it creates moisture that will speed up the process (if you need to)

Re: spring planting
This may sound weird, but I have had great success with cat grass. It grows so quickly, within a few days. I've used it for fathers day gifts. We planted it in a container and drew a face. The grass was like the hair, the kids loved it. I've also grown it in clear cups and you could see all the roots.

Re: spring planting
Every year we plant corn, peas, and bean seeds. The kids love it! They grow very fast!! Then the kids take them home, and many tell me they plant them in their gardens!!
