It's not easy Marcie, but if you set goals for yourself, that might help. Also, reading success stories (like in Shape?) might help you to feel like if other women like you can do it, then you can too.
Set mini goals, write them down, and stick to them! Be a real model for your daughter - she'll grow up watching her mommy be healthy by eating right and exercising

I'd been "trying" on my own for a few months and no success. I joined ww a month ago and I really like it. Its shown me what portion sizes should be and its really gotten me eating more fruit & veg. It motivates me every week to see that # on the scale go down and the meetings have been very helpful. Down 9.2 pounds so far.

I know it is so hard. I just got back from vacation. Tomorrow I am starting back on ww and joining a gym. I am disgusted with myself right now. I look and feel terrible.
I have to lose weight and find that motivation!

I know where you are coming from. I tell myself to eat healthy, small portions and exercise at least 3 x a week
Still no losses.... I made a motivational poster with phrases and a pic of myself at my skinniest and its helping to keep me out of the fridge for mindless eating.
Other than that- Im just too busy to stay motivated. Once summer comes I'll be working out every day

It is so tough, I started South Beach on Tues and lost 5 lbs already, I highly recommend it, you lose quickly and it helps to motivate you when you step on the scale, it then becomes addicting.

Same here, Marcie. It's so much easier for me to go home at night and snack, etc
But lately I have been kind of embarrassed that physically I am not as strong or capable as I used to be - and I am turning 30 in July so my goal is to make some effort and progress by then - maybe setting a goal would help? Also, I want to make changes now to prevent heart disease etc later on....
It bothers me that, let's say, I am crouching down on the floor to pick something up and when I am getting back up, I can feel all the weight I gained putting pressure on my knees, etc...I used to be able to spring up and down, walk anywhere, no problem, I was in such good shape. So that's what I want to get back to - being physically fit and capable - not even a skinny minny, I never was that - I have curves, so I just want to be more toned and healthy!
