Feeling Lonley (sorry long)

Has anyone ever gone through or is going through a phase where you feel lonely? It's hard to describe and I am sure its hormonal.

Kind of like no one around you knows what you are going through being pregnant.

People that you used to speak to a lot or see a lot you don't hear/see them as much as you did prior to being pregnant.

Having friends/family call you and go on and on about themselves and never ask you how you are doing? And if they do they seem totally disinterested?

Not hearing from family members as much as you thought you would?

Having a DH that really tries to understands but never really can making you feel like you are going through this all alone?

Sorry so long and sorry i am undercover...i know a lot of people of this site some family. TIA for listening.

Re: Feeling Lonley (sorry long)

I absolutely know what you are talking about. I went through this during my second trimester and it sucked. It was a terrible feeling. Someone here recommended I try journaling to get my feelings out and it really helped. Thankfully it went away by my 3rd trimester. I've actually read a lot lately about how common it is for women to go through depression, which is what I thought I was going through, when they are pregnant. If you find yourself feeling this way very often, it may not hurt to talk to someone. Even it its your OB/GYN to see if they can make any recommendations.

I know how you are feeling...

Being on moderate bedrest I spend most of my days by myself. I dont really see the loneliness until I have a chance to talk to one of my neighbors or if someone calls on the phone...

Thank goodness for LIFAMILIES!

I'm sorry you are feeling this way. I know what you mean about the family part. My sister gave birth last year and everyone, including extended family, was there for her 24/7, calling, writing, etc. Now, I guess they feel it's no big deal that I am having a baby. My MIL never asks me how I'm feeling, not once. Doesn't even talk about her grandchild. I know she is going through stuff but it still hurts. So we're here for you! Chat Icon Chat Icon
