UPDATE: I hate asking, but I could really use some prayers

Update 2nd paragraph.

DH has been running a fever for eleven days. He's been in the hospital for 4. He's now on his 3rd antibiotic, because he didn't respond to the first 2. The doctor *thinks* it maybe a-typical pneumonia, but can't be sure. They're taking a second CT scan of his lung tomorrow because it looks "odd." He's not coughing at all, which is making me think it isn't fluid in his lung. We're thinking of transferring him to another hospital in Queens or LIJ, because the care seems a little haphazard (sp?). He's so miserable, he literally begged me to take him home with me tonight, but I couldn't. I'm afraid his fever will spike again and I'll just have to readmit him. I don't know what's making him so sick, and it's making me very nervous, and I just want him better and back home with me.

UPDATE: Thank you all for your good thoughts & prayers. He's on 3 new antibiotics, plus Motrin. He went 8 hours yesterday with his fever lowering, and finally normal. It went up again last night, but after the antibiotic today, it was normal again for a while, and he was really acting like himself again. I was afraid it was only the Motrin doing this, but after discussing it with his doctor, he said that Motrin wouldn't last for that long, so he really thinks the antibiotics are starting to work. I know we still have a road ahead of us, but hopefully, we're about to turn a corner. Please keep the prayers coming! Thank you.

I know how he feels. I ran a 105-degree fever for over 10 days last May/June and ended up hospitalized for more than a week. It turns out I had a kidney infection and it took lots of Tylenol and Levaquin (antibiotic) to get me better.

A woman I work with recently went through this with her husband. He is 40 and in good health. He also did not cough but had been experiencing back pain and ultimately difficulty breathing.

He also had atypical pneumonia. He was hospitalized for 10 days but now is home and doing well.

With regard to the hospital is his doctor seeing him during rounds and can you get a more definitive response. Maybe a consult with another physician who will visit him where he currently is could help??

I'm sure its very frustrating. Hope he is better soon.
