Another best friend spinoff
Do you ever get tired of your friends?
Do you 'outgrow' them? Or hope to keep them forver?
I was just wondering what people's general expecations are of their friends.

Re: Another best friend spinoff
I get tired of those who say they are my friends and are so not. I have my family and most of frineds are married too so we're not always in each others faces.

Re: Another best friend spinoff
I have outgrown almost all of my friends. It's sad on a lot of levels, but I am happy that I am able to recognize that I need to move on. None of them are close to getting married and they don't have careers, which is fine, but we just have very little in common anymore. I have ONE friend who I feel I am still close with after years, but he's been my best friend since we were little kids, so we've grown together.

I get tired of people who say they are my friends, but make no effort to live up to that.

Re: Another best friend spinoff
I noticed a big change in my life from my 20s into my 30s.. our lifestyles were totally going in diff directions and save for a few emails here of there, I dont keep in contact with the majority of them - some not at all. So yes, I did grow" tired" of them I guess you could say.
Now iN my 30s, partly in part because I met DH and partly due to moving and starting a new job (and even this very website!) I made an entirely new set of friends
-I think we all have our moments with our friends but overall my current set of friends are wonderful and I adore them.
as I always say I'm lovin' my 30s (except for actually BEING 30something)

Re: Another best friend spinoff
I have some friends that I was very close with but have dropped them.
I was close friends with this one girl and she was in my bridal party but ever since she got married herself and had a baby, i've really lost contact and the last time I saw and spoke to her was at her son's christening party.
But I still have my 3 girly best friends...and the most import best friend of all...My DH...

Since i had my kids things changed mostly. The people I thought were my friends didnt seem to be once i had my kids. I have made a slew of new friends, from being active with little league and karate even other activities we do. we all have a common bond whihc is nice

I've definitely outgrown some of my friends. Not all, but some. I'm always looking for new friendships as well!

Re: Another best friend spinoff
I have gone through periods in my life where I have outgrown or grown apart from my friends. However, I feel really secure with my current friendships. I think that over time, and with marriage, my number of close friends has shrunk, but those who I remain close to are the ones I expect to have throughout my life.

Re: Another best friend spinoff
I get tired of acquaintances. My close friends, I have known for years. We could not talk for a month but when we do it's like we just talked to each other yesterday.
