Wish me...
I'm leaving now for my follow-up NST after last night's "non-responsive NST." I'm also getting a sonogram today to check the size, last week the baby was 8-8, so I'm expecting it to be over 9 lbs now!
Please wish me luck and keep me in your thoughts. I'm actually really really nervous. I'm thinking if I don't get a good one I might just go to the hospital for them to test me there, because today I haven't even felt the baby moving around as much.
Phew.

Not feeling the baby as much could be a good sign...
The DR said to me the other day...the less you feel..the more it means the baby is getting ready to come out!!!

LOL, I'm back! NO baby! I love that post ... "6 hours and we haven't heard from her..." Hehee, I wish that were the case!
Took a VERY long time at the dr's office today. I was there for over 3 1/2 hours. I had my NST and then a sono and then met with the doctor.
They said the NST was better today. Last night there just weren't any fluctuations in the baby's heartrate at all. The doctor said it was "flatlined" which freaks me out but not in like the regular kinda way. It's not like there was no heartrate, it just was 140 and stayed there the whole time. I was very clear, since I didn't feel he explained anything to me last night, to ask him to specifically show me my NST from last night and explain what was wrong, and then show me what it's supposed to look like. Basically he said that when the baby moves, the heartrate should go up, just like when we go up a flight of stairs our heartrate will go up. Last night for the 30 minutes the heartrate didn't increase at all, which is why it was "nonreactive."
Today it went up every so often, about once or twice every 10 minutes. He said it is much better, and said since I ate a sandwich before the test and was drinking cold water during the test it helped to keep the baby active and awake.
I also asked him about my swelling and BP since I'm concerned about that but he doesn't seem concerned. I asked about when they might decide to just induce or do a c-section since the baby is so big, and he said we'll talk about it next week when I'm almost 39 weeks, since I'm 2 days of being 38 weeks now.
And I had another sono, and it's getting harder and harder for them to measure the baby since the head, belly and femur don't even fit in the screen anymore, so they reallycan't easily measure it, but she estimated 9lbs 2 oz today. Last week it was 8-8, the week before 7-9, the week before 6-11, so it seems like it is slowing down some (which theysiad could happen around 38 weeks) or it could just be that the measurements are really off this week because she had a hard time getting them.
So I'm relieved to have a better NST this week. My next appointment is thursday.
Thanks for everyone who was thikning of me, I was so nervous but definately feel a lot better now!
