So what do you all do...

When you go out to eat or over to a friend/relatives house for dinner...??

Tonight we went to my IL's- and she made chicken cutlets, baked pots, and salad...

I ate a small lunch (2pts) to save up for dinner... but Im sure I still went overChat Icon Thank God for those 35 flex points -right?

I was careful to eat slow and small portions... I had one VERY small and thin sliced breaded chicken cutlet- half a baked pot. and tried to fill up on salad....

I totally skipped desert(this was so hard to do- sitting at the table watching them scarf down yummy donuts and cookiesChat Icon )

If I know I'll be eating out or going to a party, I am EXTRA good during the week. I know you can't bank points from day to day, but I figure it can't hurt. I think you made wise choices with the meal you were served. CONGRATULATE yourself!!! Don't think about how poorly you did, focus on the good things you did! Chat Icon

Re: So what do you all do...

when I eat out I always try to just enjoy the foods I don't normally have. I choose worth-while ones, not ones that are just ok, or eat them because they are there.
I also drink water, diet soda and stay closer to lower calorie items to fill on and stop eatting when I am full.

I never beat myself up over what I had, because even though you are watching your weight, you are still human and should not be deprived of yummy foods or enjoying yourself.

ETA: Remember, one meal a week is not going to make you overweight, it's the overall picture that matters. So unless you are eating out a lot, then I would be more cautious and make sure you are exercising too!

I think you did great with your choices and what you ate... I wouldn't worry about that one meal, focus on the whole picture. I am not on WW, but I am allowing myself 1 meal a week that maybe a little off the diet. And its about moderation. I think if I am too strict with myself, I will get bored too easily and then not complete the weight loss goal I set for myself.
