i almost passed out today
this morning, out of nowhere, i almost passed out. i was standing in a meeting, and about 10 minutes in i started to feel really lightheaded and sweaty and almost fell over! 
i ate a full breakfast... i didn't get up quickly from a seated position... it wasn't warm or smelly in the room or anything...
basically it just came out of nowhere. which concerns me... like, what if i was in my car??
has this happened to anyone?
ETA: i am 19 weeks

This happened to me as well in the beginning when I was on the train. I too was standing and out of nowhere it hit me, I got hot, lightheaded, started getting tunnel vision and had to bend down. I almost passed out. Asked my doctor about it and he said it is normal because the baby is taking up most of your nutrients. Just try and keep juice or water handy.

Alex - do you have low blood pressure?
This has actually happened to me (while not preggo), and it was due to low blood pressure.

i'd mention it to your doc just in case at your next visit - esp. if it happens again and i would def keep juice handy in case of an emergency! be careful!

I've been feeling a little lightheaded and dizzy all afternoon. I'm only about 5/6 weeks myself and this is the first time I've felt this way.
My preggo friend tells me it's the air today that's making me feel this way, since she's feeling it a little too.

Please be careful. This has never happened to me but I'm guessing it involved low blood sugar maybe or dehydration? My doc told me to always carry water or something with you.

i have had low blood pressure before, but i've never actually come this close to passing out from it... that could be the culprit, although for some reason it just hit me all of a sudden and i don't understand why?
i was also thinking low blood sugar or dehydration, but i had just had a full breakfast (including a cup of OJ) and i am better hydrated than i've ever been.
i just hope it's nothing bad. i will tell my OB at my next appt on wednesday

Happened to me at Home Depot. We had just eaten so I know it wasn't due to blood sugar or dehydration.
Your blood pressure tends to be lower in the 2nd trimester- so that will often cause *the vapors*.

I had the same thing happen to me at Waldbaums around 17-18 weeks.... I got lightheaded, sweaty and could barely stand...
For me, I went home ate and drank a lot of water, and felt better.....

I wonder if its possible that the baby is "sitting" on a nerve or something and cutting off your circulation? Does that sound really stupid?
I hope it does not happen again!

Wow Alex, I hope you are okay now. I've never experienced this but was going to ask if you've ever dealt with blood pressure issues.
Did you call your doctor's office?

i had this happen to me about 2 weeks ago at target. i had to sit down and my grandmother had to run and find me water...i dont know what came over me.
then this past sunday at church, the same thing again. i got really hot and felt so faint and dizzy...
strange

You probably should call your dr.
It could be severa reasons, Low blood pressure, low sugar or blood not circulating to your head (that happened to me while I was sitting at work). I almost passed out and was brought to the hospital at 32 weeks.

same EXACT thing happened to me last week and we have the same due date. i decided no more standing in meetings even short ones!

This happened to me a couple of times in my 2nd and 3rd trimester. My doctor had me come in and put me on the monitor to make sure the baby was okay. She said it was probably caused by the baby's position i.e. could have been resting on a nerve, or I could have been dehydrated. She had me double up on the amount of water I was drinking (from 8 to about 16 glasses) of water. Hasn't happened since!
ETA: She also had me watch my posture and position while sitting and standing. When standing, don't lock your knees and when sitting, try not to slouch.

thank you everyone for the advice and kind words
going to the OB tomorrow (level II!!) and will definitely let him know what happened... hasn't happened since, but better to be safe and tell the doc...

That happened to me early on, at Guess in the mall...I had to sit down, luckily they had those comfy couches! But yes, it just came out of nowhere!
