I am furious! Updated
My boss gave a client of our my cell phone number and he called me late this morning, yes on saturday to see if I would be working because apparently my boss told him that I come in on Saturday sometimes. The only time I ever came in on Saturday's is durning tax season never on my own will. I am so angry. Needless to say I didnt not call my boss or my client back. I think that is so rude and I dont know how to handle it on Monday without getting nasty because this pregnancy has the best of me sometimes.

Re: I am furious!
That is completely out of line!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe he would give our YOUR personal cell number, people amaze me sometime.
You have two days to figure out how to say this calmly to him--I would vent my frustrations now and be able to be levelheaded then.
Sorry

I would be FURIOUS too, to put it lightly. You have every right to give your boss a piece of your mind!

Re: I am furious!
Is your boss paying for that cell line? If not then I would give him that bill because that is totally uncalled for. I'd be ******.

I also do not let my job ever use my cell phone for business unless they offer to pay the bill for the business related calls

Re: I am furious!
I would be extremely ******! Unless like the others said the company is paying for it , there is no reason why he should be giving a client your PERSONAL number to be reached!!!!! I would tell my boss, Listen I know you meant it in good intentions to give so and so my cell phone number but I and my husband are not comfortable with me receiving phone calls from clients , that is for my personal or emergency use only. I would really appreciate it if you did not give it out to anyone, thank you. and if they do- GET A NEW NUMBER and DONT TELL them! and if they ask for the new number say sorry, its for emergency only, not personal use! GL let us know what happens!

Re: I am furious! Updated
Well I spoke to my boss and I told him straight out that I didnt call the client back and I don't want him giving out my numnber anymore. He kinda blew it off like it wasn't a big deal and that i was just going to tell him were the file was and my other boss was actually going to go to the office and give it to him which is a a load of ***** because that wasn't the message I got. I noticed that my boss tries to pull things with me and I guess because I never spoke up and I would say ok he thinks he can still do but now I tell him no or I question him and it catchs him off guard. And the cellphone isn't one that they pay for. Thanks for listening girls!

Re: I am furious! Updated
can i ask what kind of work you do?
the reason i ask is because if you deal with clients as part of your job, then having your cell phone information is completely normal. All of my clients have access to me 24-7 (both home and cell). If your job is client-focused, then your boss was fine in giving out your number because that's just the way it is. It's all part of client service
However, if you are not dealing with the clients every day and that is your boss' job, then i agree he had no right to give out your number.
