I do mine in my steamer for about 18-20 minutes and then leave them for about 1/2 hour in a bowl of very cold water, I think they peel much easier that way.

I put mine in water before heating the water. When the water boils I turn it to low and cook an additional 10 minutes.

Rachel Ray just addressed this on her show a few days ago. She said you put the eggs in tap water, bring the water to a boil and then turn the burner off, cover and let sit for 10 minutes. Then empty the hot water and rinse with cold water drain and then shake them in the pot vigurously with the lid on. They should be easy to peel! Havent tried it yet so not sure if it really works but might be worth the try.

You can do all the tricks in the book BUT if you have really really fresh eggs you are going to have a problem. If you know you are going to be making say Deviled Eggs for a party buy the eggs a week in advance and they should be easier to peel...

I have found that this definitely helps matters. I buy my eggs at Costco 3 dozen at a time...so I usually have 1 and 2 week old eggies.

Re: does anyone know at all how to make

ok i have been eating a lot of hard boiled eggs lately.

take out of refrigerator. run under warm water to get more room temperature eggs. place in pot and cover with water and turn on heat. when water is boiling, turn off and leave in water for 20 minutes.
i heard that making the eggs room temperature is the trick.

Oh, I forgot to add the cold water part. After cooking for 10 min you let it sit in cold water for a few minutes to keep it from cooking further. That's how I make it anyway.
