Ok question
Was anyone Twins weights off at around 30 weeks. I went today for growth sono and they are measuring almost a pound difference. I know that they are fraternal but I was wondering if it was normal . One was 3lbs 4oz and the other is 4lbs 4 oz
TIA

Re: Ok question
Mine were consistently 12-15oz off each growth sono we had. To this day they are about a pound different... and they're identical. I wouldn't worry too much!

Re: Ok question
I don't remember them ever being a full pound. It may fluctuate - when do you go again?

Re: Ok question
I am actually going again for a sono in 4 weeks . My OB feels that one may just have had a growth spurt and the other may happen a little later..
Thank you for letting me know that it is normal.
Everything else is good Cervix is really long, lots of fluid, they are very active, and strong heartbeats.. who can ask for more....

Re: Ok question
This happened to me and is actually the reason they took them early. My 36 week sonogram was showing that one boy was measuring 6 lbs and the other was 4lbs 11ozs. Since they shared the same placenta and TTTS is a common issue with identical twins sharing the same placenta they decided to take them. When they came out the one twin was 6lbs, but the other was actually 5lbs 7ozs. I heard sonograms can be off to up to a pound.
Like i said though mine shared the same placenta so it was an issue because of that.

Re: Ok question
There was always a couple of ounces between them - at birth they were 6lbs 2oz and 6lbs 10oz.
Now that they are 19 months there is a huge difference between them - Hailey is 5 pounds more than Zachary.

Re: Ok question
Mine were 3 lbs different but they were identical and they believe they had TTTS. This difference started about 30 weeks but fraternal can not have this. At first they were okay with the difference they said it can happen at this point.
Now at 22 months they are 5 lbs different and both eat like horses!
