I am going on a cruise in FIVE weeks.
If I start power walking every single day, doing situps and using small weights (arms) will there be ANY change in my body after 5 solid weeks?

honestly, not really

you may feel better about yourself but it takes a long time to get our bodies to where they are, and I don't think 5 weeks is going to do it. I mean, maybe if you were doing rocky-style workouts for several hours a day....

most definitely. if you are diligent about it, you will see a difference. before i go on vacation, i also change up my diet a little. sugar and carbs make me bloated so i cut back on those and notice my stomach looks better too. good luck!

I guess I will try it. Even if I lose 5 lbs I will feel SO much better about myself. (I'm a small girl, so 5 lbs is a lot on me) I'll let you know if I see a difference!

If you're looking to lose weight, I recommend Weight Watchers.

I was going to the gym religeously and doing their Flex program and lost around 11/12 pounds by my 5 week mark.....

well there is that 3 day diet where you can lose 10 pounds. It worked for me and I lost 9 pounds.

But I was STARVING on it.

Yes, you can look good in 5 weeks.
If you really set your mind to it and exercise (such as cardio with weight training) and eat right you can do it.
The key word is WILL POWER and DEDICATION!!!!!Chat Icon

Absolutely. I have started doing just situps in the morning and ww and have lost about 4 pounds in the last 3 weeks and lost some inches.
It can work.

I should clarify...I don't need to lose weight (maybe 5 pounds tops) but I just have to TONE reallllly badly. I'm going to give it a try, and of course I hope to stick with it for the long term as well. Chat Icon

It absolutely is possible!
You need to create that 3500cal = 1lb of fat deficite, so, if you maintain a good diet and daily exercise (cardio & strength training), you should have no problem toning a little and losing some weight.
Plus you should feel a lot better about yourself.

I have finally gotten back into exercisings regularly for the past 3 weeks. I am not at my goal, but I am starting to see the results!

go for it! If you stick to it - you will notice tone within the month.

If you are petite, 1 pound a week is very doable.

I think you can definitely see a difference in 5 weeks. it may not be this major overhaul, but you can lose weight and gain muscle, asbsolutely!

I was once told by a fitness expert that it takes 6 months before you start to notice results when working out. this has definitely been the case with me. but I don't think it can hurt to start working out and watching what you eat. you can absolutely lose a lot of weight in 5 weeks!

I would also cut out sugars and carbs for the two-three weeks before you will notice a HUGE difference. That in conjunction with working out will def make a big change in 5 weeks.

You can definitely change your body in 5 Weeks, but you have to be extremely motivated and strict. Try WW definitely!!! You can loose at least 2lbs a week. You will see a difference, and you will feel better about yourself. Try to work out on the cruise as well. Good Luck!

I am going on a cruise in a few weeks as well. Maybe we are going on the same one. Mine leaves July 1st.
