cost of vaccines
I took Abbey to the vet for her wellness exam and vaccines, they gave her a rabies shot, did blood work, testing for heart worm, gave me a medicine she started to knaw at her paw, heart worm medicine and the first booster of the lepto shot total bill 340.00, is that the norm?
I cant find my bill from last year but I dont remember paying nearly half that much. oh and her tooth is ok, if it bothers her while eating then they would have to drill it out, so far so good.

Re: cost of vaccines
My vet would charge that much for all those services. Heart worm meds alone are $125 a year.

not to steal the thread, but how often are these clinics scheduled? We're getting a puppy soon and I'm curious.

not to steal the thread, but how often are these clinics scheduled? We're getting a puppy soon and I'm curious. Go to petco.com and put in your zip code. You will then get links to stores in your neighborhood along with their schedules. They are usually at least once a month.
I will say though, for a puppy I would NOT recommend doing this from the beginning. The shots are administered in stages, as the full strength doses are too much for a puppy. I would definitely hold off using the clinic until next year's boosters are due. Plus the early Vet visits are important for a puppy to make certain they are developing well.
