Finally had my follow up
From my last IVF cycle back in June. I'm a little upset that my RE didn't seem as positive as he usually does, but I guess considering that was my 6th failed IVF cycle, who can blame him.
I told him this will most likely be our last try (gulp), and he said that he is willing to be very aggressive in transferring more embryos as long as I am willing to consider selective reduction.
He will also add estrogen patches to my protocol after my tx to keep my estrogen levels in line with my progesterone levels. He will also speak to the lab about considering ICSI (injecting sperm into the egg to help fert rates) since our fert rate last time was not as good as usual.
He said since I am 37, have normal FSH, and had a previous pregnancy (the ectopic), he does have faith that this could work for me.
I have to do another biopsy as they do not have any of my endometrium cells left for co culture. Because of all the crazy scheduling, I probably won't be starting until November...
I'm very scared and could use lots of positive vibes...

Re: Finally had my follow up
Lisa, Im wishing ALL the positive vibes for you. You deserve it. If anyone that has been through so much it is you!!!!!
My RE did ICSI and Im still wearing estrogen patches (which reminds me to order more) Im glad they are getting more aggressive, and may this be it for you. We had 8 eggs fertilize with the ICSI procedure. Not sure if they were the 2 that they transferred back.

Re: Finally had my follow up
I cannot even put into words how many positive vibes I am sending your way, please keep us up to date on this IVF's progress so I can continue to pray. I agree with the others, your strength is amazing, inspiring, and yet makes me sad, that youhave had to go through all this is heart breaking. The fact your not perpetually crawled up into a ball on the couch is amazing as well.
I think that this last try might be it, I agree with the dr and think the more transferred the better....and selective reduction may not even have to be an option in the best case scenario...
Is there a reason for no ICSI in the past? I heard amazing results with that and if this is your last try I would 100% do it if you have that chance!
Im wishing you lots of peace in the upcoming weeks and prayers for a baby on the horizon!!

Re: Finally had my follow up
Thanks everyone
Donna, we have transferred 4 in almost every other cycle and nothing, so when he said the thing to me about SR I almost laughed out loud!
Cornell has never done ICSI for us b/c DH's sperm count has always been good, and our fert rate is always excellent. Their theory is the less you tamper with the embryos, the better. But, last time they did Assisted Hatching which they never did before, and I had no idea why. My RE said they hoped to assist implantation since I had so many failed cycles.
My last clinic did both ICSI and AH for us, and nothing. But, my egg quality was so bad from the protocol they had me on that I don't think anything would have worked...
