Re: Yellowing nails???
it is probably from your nailpolish color.

Even if I use very light colors? TIA yes, that has happened to me too. i've had nothing but clear on them for about a month now and the part of nail that has grown out and hasn't had polish on it is not yellow at all. give it a few weeks... the yellow will go away. mine did

Re: Yellowing nails???
Take the polish off, even the clear, your nail beds need to breathe. Leave your nails naked for a couple of weeks, longer if you can and use a good hand cream, your nails will look much healthier. The same thing happened to me a few years ago and a beauty therapist gave me the same advice. My nails are now strong, the nail beds are nice & pink and the ends are white, trust me it works!

Re: Yellowing nails???
While discolored nails can be a sign of illness, it is due to lack of oxygen to the nail itself and a reaction to the chemicals in the polish. It is more visible when you use a lot of dark colors. It will either grow out OR you can whiten them yourself. I've heard of people using bleach and peroxide. I've also heard of a product that does it too.
From Cosmo: Red, burgundy, and brown-based polishes contain dark pigments that can leave behind a yellow stain on nails, especially if you skip a protective base coat, says Mona Monaghan, senior vice president and general manager of Sally Hansen Group. To lighten your nasty-looking nails, pour three capfuls of hydrogen peroxide into one-third cup of water and soak your fingers for two minutes. Then dip a toothbrush into the solution and brush your talons for a superclean finish. Next, massage both cuticles and nails with a cuticle oil that contains vitamin E. Wait two minutes, then completely remove the oil with a nonacetone polish remover. Prevent those unsightly stains from recurring by applying a moisture-locking base coat before you paint your pointers again.
Also, baking soda and peroxide usually whiten things.

Re: Yellowing nails???
I heard that rubbing lemon juice on your nails will help take the yellow away. YOu were probably wearing a dark colored polish. DOn't wear any clear, and let your nails breathe for awhile.
