Puppy Help Please!

Well, my new pup came home this week and we love him to bits! He's absolutely adorable and such a sweetie!

We are crate training him but I would love to hear your suggestions on helping him stop crying through the night. The first night was great - he slept and hardly cried. Last night though was another story. I'm taking him out every 3 hours but the minute I put him in he cries. I put in a bottle of warm water wrapped in a blanket as well as the clock. Music works for a little while.

Any other ideas? Tough love is hard when you're exhausted! Chat Icon

My dog did that too the first week or two. We put a blanket over the crate and it helped him settle down.

Not sure if this will help, but the first few nights we had our puppy i moved the crate next to the bed and would put my hand through the crate to pet her so she wouldn't be so upset...after a few nights she jumped in there herself looking forward to the night.

Re: Puppy Help Please!

ha! Yea, we tried crate training with Lexi and Bella, but we gave into both. They sleep in bed with us, and they totally won.

What's going to happen when we have kids? heheheheheheh

I don't have advice for you because I don't know what to do for that. Keep ignoring it and don't give in. OR, let little Kobie sleep in bed with you guys. Chat Icon
