This is a form of a popular psychological perception test, called the Stroop test. It measures your selective attention. Reading is an automatic process for most adults, so you have to concentrate more to focus on the color of the text.
In the "real" test, you see rows and columns of color words. First, the words are printed in black, and you have to read them. Then, the next batch of words is multicolored and you have to name the color of the text. It's so much more difficult to do verbally than it is to click on the color. I've had to do it in class and it requires SO much concentration.
