So she is upset that she will not be able to open a daycare or do anything with children til the baby is 28yrs old? 28 sounds strange--you think it would be 18, but I understand them for wanting to err on the side of caution. And it sounds like she has her hands full already, so I don't know how she would be opening a day care center in her home. My cousin is a pediatric surgeon in the ER, and I know how many cases she sees. I think it is better for them to be careful and have any suspicious case looked into (and with a 1 year old really any head bump should be looked at--their skulls are not fully developed and it could result in brain damage). Waiting even hours could have been vital. And with the other child having absences (were their dr. notes for all of the absences? because they wouldn't usually give a problem for documented days out by drs.)....It's not like they took them away from her...I am not saying she is not a careful mother but I think each doctor should be that careful.

It isnt that she wants to open a daycare its that she cant! she is a great mom and its just unfair that she has a file now for this
trust me I would say if she was a bad mother because my other SIL is a horrible mother so we take care of her son now.....its just a shame thats all

Why would the hospital call CPS for one bump on one childs head.

That's just horrible. They always seem to target the decent people and look past the ones that shouldnt have kids. Im sorry she's going through this. I agree to a point that your better safe then sorry but it's not always done due to procedure and because someone was being spiteful or because someone deceided that wouldnt happen to them. My ex called CPS on me because I broke up with him. My cousin got into an arguement with her sister over her last cigarette and her nut of a sister called CPS. I also new a girl who had CPS called on her numerous times because her son was constantly falling and hitting his head and she refused to take him to the ped. to have it checked out and CPS came once, well the little boy died from skull fractures at the age of 4yr after hitting his head one last time. I also agree that you have you case workers who really care but a larger number who cant be bothered and are just looking for a paycheck. JMO
