Review and Pics of Canada Trip - Whistler & Vancouver
I am back from my trip! I am up late due to the time change so I figured I would share some pics.
We went to Whistler and Vancouver. This is a trip I would never choose for myself since I hate cold weather. However, I am glad we went to experience something new... and since DH "won" this trip through his job, everything was paid for and planned for us so that was nice for a change.
In Whister we stayed in the Fairmont Chateau Whistler . It is a beautiful hotel at the base of Blackcomb mountian where the winter Olympics will be held in 2010. I LOVED it, except for the weather. During the day in direct sunlight it was pretty nice, but as soon as a cloud passed by or the sun set it was FREEZING! We ate dinner at The Mountain Club which happened to be on their grand openinig. It was pretty good but unique combinations of food. We also ate at Trattoria Di'Umberto as a large group. Thhis place was great, but since we went as a large group there was a limited menu. I am a picky eater so I would have prefered to have a choice from the entire menu. One night the company rented out a club - Garibaldi Lift Co. Bar & Grill - which is at the base of Whistler Mountain, and there was a BMX show and fire dancers for us to watch. That was cool! The activities we did were Horseback Riding, Mountian Biking, Hummer tour up a mountain to a glacier, and relaxing at the pool. Many of my pics have his coworkers in them, so I will post the ones of just us.

To get from Whistler to Vancouver, we chose to rent a car. It was about 2.5 hours but a scenic drive. The roads are all being expanded from 1 lane each way to 2 lanes each way in preparation for the Olympics. That day was rainy so here are some spooky pics:
This is a park where you are suppossed to see Eagles, but I guess since it was rainy they were not out and about.
The weather was not great in Vancouver. We stayed at the Pan Pacific hotel which was very luxurious. I usually stay at cheaper hotels since we are always out doing activities and only use them for sleeping/showering, so it was a change for us to stay at such fancy hotels. Here is a pic from o0ut $200 dinner at Blue Water Grill - which was awesome!
That night the company rented out another club, Aqua Riva. They had a chocolate fountain there 
Everything in Vancouver was focused on the Olymipcs. I am not a big fan of going to cities on vacation so I prefered Whistler to Vancouover.
On our last day there, we spent a few hours at the spa for full body massages, then we went to vancouver's aquarium (we planned on whale watching, but it was cold and rainy so we did this instead). I loved the otters

Our last night we spent at the Commodore Ballroom for a dinner show with live music and dancers, and a lot of dancing of our own. I loved this place!
Thats it!
Overall it was a fun trip. It will be interesting to see the Olympics now that I have seen everything under construction.

Next time if you go back ...check Out
Victoria Island.... Very Romantic city.
My Husband is Canadian and his Family lives in Vancouver. We can't wait for the Olympics.
