FSH Levels Test
Hi! I'm new here and have a question about the FSH Levels Test...
Its supposed to be done on day 3 of your cycle... well does this mean, the 3rd day of actual bleeding, or the 3rd day of my sugar pills?

If you are on BC pills, the FSH test is pointless. You would have to be off any BC meds for the bloodwork to be done.
As far as your question, yes you would go for bloodwork on the third day of bleeding. Cycle Day 1 is the day you get AF and you count from there.

Ok thanks.. but why is it pointless if I am on BC? Is it becasue the pills will mess upt he hormone levels or somethign?

Exactly, the BC pills suppress certain hormones and stimulate others to prevent you from ovulating so doing bloodwork while on them doesn't get a correct reading of your levels.
They would probably expect you to be off BC pills for a few months so your body has time to regulate itself.

o that stinks...wonder why my doctor didn't mention that...when we first met with her a few months agot o get the low down on IVF we told her we want to start trying right after we get back from our honeymoon the end of August and I told her I was on Seasonale (3 month cycle instead of 1), so she said to finish up the pack I was on and then come in for the test

Maybe I'm wrong - or maybe she is going to do consecutive tests to see if anything changes.
I would call and double check.

to make a long story short I had cancer when I was a kid, had to have ovarian transposition (ovaries moved up) for radiation..tubes weren't flexible, they had to cut thema nd tie them back together... and about 2 yrs ago my GYN put my on Seasonale becasue he said it might help preserve whatever eggs I have left by making my cycle 3 months instead of 1. The end.
