Recommend your RE - Endometriosis
I've been lurking for about a month, but finally ready to post here.
I have severe endometriosis and my OBGYN has recommended that I use recommends San Roman. I've heard mixed reveiws on his practice.
Anyone have any experience with him and endometriosis as your underlying problem?
Anyone have an RE that they recommend for someone that has endometriosis?
TIA

Re: Recommend your RE - Endometriosis
I had a laproscopy done by Dr. San Roman. I felt comfortable with him throughout, especially his experience in the field. I am about one year out now, and feel so much better! Good Luck

Re: Recommend your RE - Endometriosis
Hello, I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis. I am going to start IVF. I go to NSUH. I feel they have a good reputation. I am curios did you have signs like severe pain? I had no signs and ended up with stage 4 what luck.

I had endometriosis that was found and removed during a laproscopy. I love my Dr but he's in Brooklyn

Re: Recommend your RE - Endometriosis
I had moderate endo back in 2004. The dr that took care of me doesn't practice anymore (bummer). She performed my lap and removed a lot of my endo plus a couple of chocolate cysts (that's what she called it) from my ovaries.
I was given about 6 months to try on my own and if it didn't work out she recommended me to go see another infertility dr. Nothing happened so she recommended Dr. Droesh but she didn't take my insurance. I then found Dr. Chu at NSUH and I was very happy with her and the rest of the doctors there.
I'm sure they all are very knowledgeable on how to treat endo. My endo in the two year time frame of ttc didn't come back bad and after failing my 1st IVF attempt I was able to conceive on my own two months later.

They are great there good luck. I had severe pain. A couple of time I was rushed to the ER because of them. I just thought they were really bad cramps. They did an MRI and found two huge cysts. From there I went to see an endo/re dr who took care of me and recommend a lap to clean up. I didn't have stage 4 but she told me to start thinking about having a family sooner than later. It was bad. I told her I had felt these pains on and off since I was 23. I had my lap and 27.

Dr. Rosenfeld from NSUH did my Lapro. I was happy with him. The NSUH practice has a pretty good reputation!

Re: Recommend your RE - Endometriosis
I would definitely lean more towards NSUH as opposed to RSNY...I've heard many more success stories out of North Shore, although I don't use them myself as they aren't covered by my insurance.

I am stage 4 also. I have and had severe symptons. Had surgery Oct 2006. It spread to my gallblader, appendix, ovaries. My organs had to be scraped. I was also put on Lupron (medicially induced metapause) for 6 months to keep the endo from growing. I got my first period May 2007 and since the very first one I"m back to painful periods. I can barely walk and I get fevers....it's awful!
