Any advice?????
Hey everyone i need some advice i am 19 yrs old and i may be pregnant. I just started a new job about 3 months ago. my probationary period is over and i have about 9 months until i accumulate enough leave to even have a vacation. I dont want to terminate the pregnancy if i am because i dont believe in that. Im worried because i dont think i can afford a kid but im willing to do whatever it takes. Can some one help me with some advice.

Re: Any advice?????
Hang in there...I believe that one you have been at your job for over a year you are entitled to FMLA which will give you 6 weeks maternity leave.

Re: Any advice?????
FMLA & disability are two different types of leaves.
If your company provides disbility coverage, look at the manual closely. Different companies have different eligiblity requirements for disability.
If it's a company with 50+ employees, you are also entitled to FMLA, provided that you work the minimum number of hours (1,250 hours of service )

Re: Any advice?????
Also things to think about....
What is your plan for your baby?
If you are planning on keeping the baby, I would contact agencies that are anti-abortion. I'm sure they have means to help you.
What do you think your living situation will be with the baby? Live with your parents? Your own apartment? with the dad? or his family?
If you are planning on giving the baby up for adoption, adoptive parents will pay for uncovered medical bills & legal living expenses.

Re: Any advice?????
If you are not married there are a lot of benefits available to you, especially dureing your maternity leave-you may need help with formula, diapers, etc. Also start saving now or even get a 2nd job to stock up some extra money. Do you have hjealth coverage? If not, look into Healthy NY. Start taking a pre-natal vitamin with at least 800 mg of Folic Acid-you can get in any drug store or Target

Re: Any advice?????
There are a lot of programs out there that will help you out...no worries. What you should worry about right is taking care of yourself and your growing baby. See an ob/gyn asap and start taking your prenatal vitamins...life has a weird way of working itself out...its the miracles like this one that make it so special! Hang in there! All will be well!
