What would you do? (Twin b-day party)

My daughter has a birthday party this weekend to attend. There were 2 K classes in her school, the twins were in each class. I started wondering the other day if anyone would just buy the twin in his/her respective class a gift and why. I'm not cruel and will be buying a gift for both boys...but just wondered if anyone would buy for just the one their child really knows?

Twice we've invited twins to her bday parties where one twin was in a different class...each time she received 2 gifts which surprised me. I was expecting to get one gift and not even one "big" gift either.

Also, if anyone could tell me what 6 year old boys like to play with, that would be helpful. haha.

I said both. When we've been invited to baby's 1st b-day or when a new baby is born, we even get something for the older sibling to help with jealousy issues. The only way I can see someone not getting for the "twin they don't know" is if they don't know they're twins.....which I think is pretty unlikely!

When my daughters were invited to a birthday party that was for twins, each one got a present even, though, they might not have known the other child. I just think that's the right thing to do.

As far as the gift is concerned, how about "Transformers". It is a really popular movie. That's the only idea I have.Chat Icon

That's how I feel, too. I just wondered if someone would knowingly do the opposite.

Transformers...there's an idea! Thanks.

Since they are twins it's hard to buy a gift just for one of them. In this case, I would buy a gift for each one.

Anything transformers or Spiderman (although a bit out now!) is great.

ETA: I love bodysboards for that age. They can use it at the pool or at the beach. They make great one with characters on them.

I would buy both a gift. My kids have been invited to sibling parties & I bought gifts for the other sibling because I felt it was the right thing to do.

Also for 6 year olds:

Anything superhero related - Fantastic Four, Transformer just came out. Harry Potter is coming out.

Webkins are very popular too- toy stuffed animals with a tag for a computer game online.

I know toys are a huge deal but as a parent I can't help but cringe when my kids get even more toys. I feel like it's such a waste.

Great gifts they received & I was thankful for were sleds, movie tickets w/ a small token gift, & anything that is an outdoor toy.

I agree with the previous posters about gifts for both.

I have a six year old son. He LOVES:
-anything lego (maybe two different lego sets, one for each?)
-tinker toys
-anything superhero
-webkinz (and the lil kinz are very reasonable!)
-card games
-anything for outdoor sports play.
