So dress barn had a cute dress in the window...

But i can't get over the name, lol. Am i a snob?? I used to make fun of my mom for shopping there and now i'm tempted...

I just don't get why they would call themselved dress BARN. Good lord, farm animals and ladies dresses...not a good combo in my opinion!

I've bought a few nice things there in the past but the last time I went in there I came out pretty disappointed. Chat Icon

well you're not alone. I have never liked that store. I was actually at the one in Riverhead a few months ago looking for a dress and it reminded my why I don't like it.

I actually bought a great dress there a few weeks ago - and I wasn't even going to go in the store! I didn't like most of the stuff - but they did have a few cute things.

And - best part - the dress was only $40.

I bought my dress for my daughter's communion last year. It was NOTHING that my mother would wear. It was also on sale for, I think, $40.

I honestly was never crazy about the store, until recently when I had to get a dress for DSs Baptism.
After two or three other stores prior to Dress Barn, I should have went to Dress Barn first.
So many choices and I LOVE my dress. I even used it for a wedding. Chat Icon

Re: So dress barn had a cute dress in the window...

I never have a prob shopping from any store, I can't afford pricey things right now and don't care where the dress ends up being from..

I just really hate the name dress barn. I think its awful, I've always thought that. I don't get "barn" in the name of a clothing store but thats just me I guess?!

Re: So dress barn had a cute dress in the window...

Youre not alone, I went to an anniversary party yesterday and a woman had on a great dress. I asked her where she got it and she whispered Dress barn. I think I heard of them twice and not recently so my question is where are they b/c this was a stunning dress and saw the same style, material, design in macys for over 100 and she said she paid 29.00Chat Icon

Re: So dress barn had a cute dress in the window...

I don't usually like their stuff, but sometimes they do have really cute dresses at good prices. I wanted something sexy for New year's this year and looked everywhere and on a whim went in there...found a HOT dress for under $50 AND a really cute pair of shoes for $30!

Re: So dress barn had a cute dress in the window...

I have gotten a few dresses in there less than $50, and everyone is always shocked when I tell them that's where I got it. I've also gotten blue pinstripe suit that is machine washable and dryable that has held up over four years, and still looks great - I think that may have been $60.

You definitely have to search the racks, but there are usually some great deals and cute stuff.

Hmmm, I've never been in there, but after reading all of the rave reviews, I may have to check out the one near my house! Thanks! Chat Icon

& I wouldn't be ashamed to say where you bought it! If someone is complimenting it, they like it, so who cares where it's from?!

Its kind of a hit or miss store!

Sometimes it was great things.

I remember that we got invited to a formal affair at the last minute. Ran there got a dress fro $30.00 and got tons of compliments on it.....sadly I got more compliments on that dress then the other expensive gowns that I have.

you never know
