Her bedside manner is from what I hear not as "friendly" but to tell you the truth, I love it. She's to the point, and not an alarmist, which I need.
The wait time can get up there, but I have yet to be any dr. where I wasnt waiting forever - but NOT 3 hours - I would kill myself!!! And there are always plenty of seats!

Re: need an obgyn in huntington
Dr. Singer is a great doctor. She delivered my twins, when she was with WGM. I don't know about the wait at her new place, but it cannot be any worse than it is at WGM.

dr wagner and dr goldman are in the same office and although they are excellent doctors their wait time is unbearable and the waiting room is so packed sometimes there arent even chairs. dr goldman said its the office managers fault but quite honestly its not fair for me to leave a child with some one for 3 hours whats the point of an appt.
R U Serious???
What time do you usually go?

Hmm, that's funny Liza, DH actually told me he thinks she is "too friendly". I dont know if its that I had so many appts during my pregnancy or that now I seem to be having every female health problem on earth and she is calling a lot

Re: need an obgyn in huntington
I know, the wait stinks.
I didn't particularly care for Dr. Singer though. I always felt rushed when she was talking to me, like "yeah, yeah, yeah-ing" me to death...and when I was in labor at HH, I heard her mouthing off to Dr. Goldman (or someone) in the hall asking why I wasn't induced (he abided by my wishes not to induce me, whereas she didn't even offer me a choice) and she said "Well, SHE'S an automatic C-Section!" Even though the wait is long in the waiting room for Dr Goldman, I know it's b/c he was taking his time w/ each patient... (and poor office mgr. skills).
ETA: Dr. Callan was on call when I needed a Doc when I went into labor & I met her at the hospital after giving birth, she seemed VERY nice.

I tend to feel the same way about Dr. Singer. I had some concerns once and she walked in the exam room and said to me why are you undressed it's just a quick visit. I too feel like she just brushes over my concerns.

Re: need an obgyn in huntington
Come to think of it, Dr. Singer was very rushed with me - and I once told her I forgot my questions because she was going so quickly. She did take a little longer with me after that, but almost rushed me out on my last internal when I told her I wasnt feeling the baby move as much... I refused to leave until she did a sono and realized I had low fluid...
You always have to advocate for yourself no matter who your dr is, I realized....

I LOVE Dr. Lustberg. I was so disappointed when I was moving & he wasn't going to deliver my baby. I have a few friends who have delivered with him and they have all been so happy. He's the best.

Re: need an obgyn in huntington
Corinne -
I've waited 3 hours for WGM as well. I was with Singer when she was at WGM. I agree that her bedside manner is abrupt, but I do like her short, to the point way of speaking. I you need sugar coating, she's not for you. I also heard her trying to convince a woman to get induced because she was uncomfortable, which led me to believe she's not a huge advocate of letting things progress naturally.
The doctor on call that delivered Maddie was pretty good. My friend goes to her too. I think her name was Litner(?). I'm sure it's in the paperwork. I'll try to find it.
I'm sticking with Singer now that I'm not an ob patient. You're right about the wait. It's bringing a good practice down.

Are you thinking of Deborah Zitner? She's in the same practice as Dr. Callan but isn't delivering anymore.

I agree. He was great when I gave birth. I just really like how he explains everything in layman's terms...none of this technical medical jargon that I can't understand.
