New York Times
Do they have a section where I can look for teaching jobs online, or should I subscribe to the sunday paper?
Has anyone gotten a job this way?

I got my job this way!!! I would check both on-line and in the paper. Heck, the deli guy across the street saw me many times early Sunday morning in my pj's!!!

Yes, definitely.... it was how i heard that there was a vacancy in the district i had workedin before and i applied and got the job...
you don't need to get the Sunday Times... if you happen to read it, the ed. jobs are posted in the week in review. or you can just go to nytimes.com and go to their online classifieds. what i like about that is that you can search by district and/or week so you can see WHEN a district put in an ad... maybe a job was posted a few weeks ago that you would be qualified for....

also, upload your resume on olasjobs.org. some districts only use that. i got a few interviews from that site

Always look at the Sunday edition of the times. Look at Newsday as well. My district only puts ads in Newsday. Many districts only put ads in the Times.

I got my job this way! Didn't have any "connections," never student-taught or subbed in Long Island... I just answered the job ad in the NY Times like for any "regular" job, got called for an interview, and took it from there. So it definitely works!  good luck!

When I was looking, I would get the Times and Newsday every Sunday. In the Times, the ed. ads are listed in the Week in Review section. NOT all of the jobs that are in the paper are on the online times!
