Punta Cana..any hotel recommendations?
DH and I are looking into where to go for our 1st anniversary. I heard of Secrets of Excellence in Punta Cana, DR, but I wanted to see if anyone else could suggest anything or give input on it?
TIA!

Re: Punta Cana..any hotel recommendations?
We stayed at Excellence (it's no longer part of Secrets) in April. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! The only bad thing...Service was absolutely horrendous the first 2 days but great our last day. We think it was because it was Holy Week (Easter week) down there and are very religious and stop certain activities, like water sports, during that week, so maybe they were understaffed (though I feel that's no excuse because then they shouldn't have booked so many rooms - they were 95% full). But that 3rd day was more comparable to what we've heard lots of other people say.

Thats true..why book so many rooms if it's a holiday. Tourism doesnt' take a break for holidays.
Thanks!

I agree.
I stayed at the Iberostar Punta Cana. It was renovated. It is sharing some facilities with the Dominicana.
We loved our stay there.

Re: Punta Cana..any hotel recommendations?
We just returned from excellence a few weeks ago and had a great time..... the hotel was very clean, the activities were fun. the nightly entertainment was really good(just get there early for a good seat) and the staff were extremely accommodating.... feel free to FM me if you want/need more details
